MS Cons: expensive, buggy, prone to worms/viruses/trojans/spyware ..etc, poor support of older hardware, very processor intensive, limited customizing capability, requires continual tweaking.
Linux pros: Stable, secure from most malware, tons of free software (often included), works with most PC hardware, including non intel and older intel processors, can runs some Dos and Windows software
Linux cons: Confusing to new users, must be installed, requires know-how to configure some hardware. cutting-edge hardware may not be supported. Popular commercial software such as games may not be readily available.
